Nancy has over 15 years of entrepreneurial, leadership, and managerial experience working with brands such as Houstonian Hotel, Club and Spa, Starbucks, Omni Hotels and Resorts, Olive Garden, Intuit, Snap Finance, and more.

No stranger to the debilitating effects that a poor mental health state can have on every aspect of an individual's life, Nancy has made it her mission to help individuals, companies and nonprofits build and foster healthier work environments.

One of Nancy's favorite quotes that drives her mission on mental health improvement is by Anne Mulcahy, former CEO and Chairwoman of Xerox Corporation who said, "Employees are a company’s greatest asset – they’re your competitive advantage. You want to attract and retain the best; provide them with encouragement, stimulus and make them feel that they are an integral part of the company’s mission." People matter. Mental health matters. Success matters in business and having the right people who are happy to be there makes for a winning team and profitable business.

Topic #3

Break Free from Unresolved Trauma and live

There are many people walking through life with unresolved trauma and society tells them to be strong, forgive and forget, pray it away, it’s not a big deal and so many other damaging instructions from inexperienced people who sometimes mean well but don’t have what it takes to help. Trauma when undealt with bleeds through every area of your life and affects your relationships, career, families, finances, mindset and even how you view your relationship with God. Nancy teaches audiences:

  • How to acknowledge the pain

  • Embrace vulnerability

  • When to seek professional help

  • The power of self-compassion

  • Unraveling the narrative: It's not about what happened but the story you tell yourself about what happened

  • Forgiveness

  • Building resilience for tomorrow

  • Yes you can heal and how

Topic #4: FOR AN ALL-FEMALE AUDIENCE

Balancing Act: Juggling career, family and self-care

In a Pew Research survey, 51% of women in the workforce with children under 18 find it more difficult to advance in their careers. Some even quit altogether, reduce hours or work themselves into unhealthy lifestyle. In this presentation, Nancy teaches hardworking women how to balance careers, and family without compromising on self-care. Some takeaways are:

  • How to set priorities

  • Effective time management

  • You are not a robot or an octopus, learn to say NO

  • Self-care is not selfish

  • Speak up, ask for help and schedule alone time to reset

Topic #5

Breaking the Stigma: Promoting Open Conversations about mental health among minority cultures

While this stigma can be found in many cultures, I have come to realize that it is more prevalent in minority cultures. Talking about mental health, and the negative effects some cultural rules play on an individual's life, therapy, and counseling has become taboo. Most minority cultures do not separate their faith from the need for professional mental health care. You end up with many saved but bound Christians. In this session, Nancy teaches audiences:

  • Importance of understanding cultural nuances in mental health

  • Promoting open dialogue and awareness

  • Breaking down barriers to accessing mental health care

  • The importance of consistent self-care routines

  • Bridging the gap between faith and mental health

Topic #6

Breaking the silence: Addressing Mental Health in Christian Communities

Let's face it, pastors are not mental health professionals or marriage therapists, and many times when a church or other nonprofit organization do not foster an environment that encourages their members to seek professional help, the pastor and other leaders carry the burden that they may not be fully equipped to handle. In this session, Nancy teaches churches and other faith-based nonprofits:

  • Promoting open conversations about mental health within the church community.

  • Integrating mental health awareness into pastoral care

  • Recognizing the role of spirituality in coping with mental health challenges.

  • Establishing support groups for individuals facing mental health struggles.

  • Integrating professional expertise to compliment pastoral care in addressing mental health issues
